To celebrate becoming an adult newborn, i.e. turning 40 days old (another local custom I can gladly explain called "BABINJE"), Katarina Vasja (at that stage, known merely as Baby Popovic) had her first ride on a speeding boat in Belgrade. Mama's friend, Mika, could not refrain from using full 115 HP of Mercury engine on his borrowed "Bayliner". It was not only baby's first time to go this fast. Her mother, frozen with fear for her little angel, never tried more than 70 HP. However, for the first time in her life - mama was truly afraid! Baby Popovic, on the other hand, enjoyed the ride immensely, as bumping up and down little waves on Belgrade's Sava river, must have eased her stomach cramps. She slept through this entire adventure... Cool, isn't she?
